The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has announced that Rwandans abroad, like those at home, are eligible to vote. Rwandans in the diaspora will participate in the presidential elections scheduled for July 15, 2024.

In a message sent by the Embassy of Rwanda in Poland to Rwandans living there, it was noted that while technology facilitates this voting method, certain requirements must be met.

Rwandans who meet the criteria must verify their registration with the Electoral Commission and can change their voting location if needed. This can be done through the NEC website at https://amatora.nec.gov.rw/.

The nomination acceptance period began on May 17, 2024, and will close on May 30, 2024.

The final list of approved candidates will be announced on June 14, 2024, with campaigning starting from June 22 and continuing until July 13, 2024.

Rwandans living abroad will cast their votes on July 14, 2024, while those in Rwanda will vote on July 15, 2024.

The President of the Republic and 53 deputies, from political parties or independent candidates, will be elected.
