Two young Rwandans, Mugisha Blaine and Yuhi Cesar, have successfully completed their military training at the famous Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom. This is the same school where Ian Kagame and Brian Kagame, sons of President Paul Kagame, also studied.

The news was shared by Rwanda’s Ambassador to the UK, Johnston Busingye. He attended the graduation ceremony, which took place on April 11, 2025, and congratulated the two cadets.

Ambassador Busingye said, “We are very proud of our cadets Mugisha Blaine and Yuhi Cesar. You make our country proud. We wish you success in the future.”

Rwanda’s Ambassador to Germany, Igor César, who is also the father of Yuhi Cesar, was present at the event to support his son.

In December 2024, Brian Kagame also graduated from the same academy. His older brother, Ian Kagame, had completed the training two years earlier. Ian later joined the Rwanda Defence Force and is now part of the elite unit that protects top government leaders.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is one of the most respected military schools in the world. It has trained many famous people, including members of the British Royal Family such as Prince William and Prince Harry, the sons of King Charles III.

Other well-known graduates include Muammar Gaddafi, the former president of Libya, who was known for promoting African independence.

Mugisha Blaine and Yuhi Cesar now join this group of important leaders trained at Sandhurst. Their achievement is a great pride for Rwanda.
