On December 12, 2023, Presidential Decree No. 077/01 dated 11/12/2023 was issued concerning the election of the President of the Republic and Deputies.

The announcement of the election day for the President of the Republic and Deputies was applauded  by a significant number of Rwandans. This big day will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024.  For Rwandans voting outside of Rwanda, the election day will be on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Numerous Rwandans, predominantly the younger generation, have been using social media platforms to convey their sentiments and express readiness to support the re-election of President Kagame. While opinions vary, with some suggesting it’s too late and others proposing different motives, the consensus among them is a collective willingness to afford President Paul Kagame another opportunity to lead the nation..

At this point, everyone would wonder why a large number of Rwandans want to vote for President Kagame again. If someone were to inquire about the rationale behind supporting President Kagame and the accomplishments he has brought to our country and its citizens during this concluding seven-year term, the list is extensive. The impact is so substantial that one could elaborate on it continuously, days and days.

Rwanda has achieved a lot in the past seven years under the leadership of President Paul Kagame, as well as in other previous years. Numerous major projects have been undertaken, reshaping the country and focusing primarily on public development and innovation.

Let’s take a detailed examination of these transformative initiatives that are poised to reshape Kigali.

Amahoro National Stadium

Amahoro National Stadium, a cherished symbol for Rwandans over the decades, is undergoing an impressive transformation. Boasting an impressive budget of around $170 million, this ambitious project aims to elevate the stadium’s capacity from 25,000 seats to a FIFA-standard arena accommodating 45,000 seats.

The objective is to establish a year-round entertainment hub catering to sports enthusiasts and spectators alike. This transformation not only ensures compliance with FIFA standards but also enhances the dynamic between players and fans, making it an exceptional sporting venue.

Zaria Court

Zaria Court represents a groundbreaking urban development initiative, poised to serve as a cornerstone for community, culture, and sustainability.

Expected to be finalized in early 2025, this multifunctional facility will have taken form by 2024, contributing to a notable transformation in the landscape of Kigali. Crafted to address a diverse array of needs, it embodies a forward-looking approach to urban development.

On August 14, His Excellency the President of the Republic Paul Kagame officially opened the start of this project.

On October 7, 2023, President Kagame and Prof. Jacques Marescaux, Founder and President of IRCAD, opened the IRCAD Africa Center. This state-of-the-art center is positioned to evolve into a training ground for the upcoming generation of surgeons, with a specialized focus on minimally invasive surgery.

IRCAD Africa

The center’s dedication to artificial intelligence research establishes it as a focal point for healthcare innovation in Africa, attracting talented surgeons and engineers from various parts of the continent; it also holds the potential to decrease both the cost and duration of cancer surgeries, representing a noteworthy milestone in Rwanda’s healthcare sector.

BioNTech

In 2021, when they were in France, President Paul Kagame told the president of the European Union that Europe should not send vaccines to Africa instead, they should be produced in Africa.

Just two years later, on December 18, 2023, President Kagame officially launched the BioNTech vaccine factory located in the Special Economic Zone in Kigali, Rwanda..

Inzovu Mall

Projected at an estimated cost of $68 million, Inzovu Mall is set to be a versatile hub, encompassing not just a four-star hotel and modern office block but also a variety of retail outlets, hypermarkets, high-quality restaurants, conference rooms, and more.

The visionary plans for the mall also encompass a duty-free section, strategically positioned to introduce international brands to Rwanda, thereby augmenting the country’s allure for global visitors.

Inzovu Mall aligns seamlessly with Rwanda’s vision for sustainable growth and development. Beyond enriching the tourism experience, it is poised to make substantial contributions to job creation and economic prosperity in the region.

In the past seven years, Rwanda has been known internationally through the #VisitRwanda program. This program also attracted Rwanda to be the host of international meetings and events held on the African continent.

These accomplishments, among numerous others we haven’t detailed, are attributed to the effective leadership of President Paul Kagame. These tangible achievements serve as compelling reasons why every Rwandan, both within and outside the country, harbors no reservations about affording President Paul Kagame another opportunity to lead us.
