The Spouses of Head of Diplomatic Missions (SHOM) International Charity Bazaar is set to illuminate Warsaw once again, celebrating its 16th edition on December 3, 2023, at COS Torwar Warsaw. This hallmark event, under the esteemed patronage of the First Lady of Poland, aims to showcase the diverse cultures, tastes, and traditions of countries with diplomatic missions in Warsaw, all while contributing to local charities and foundations.

Cultural Extravaganza and Diplomacy Unveiled

Diplomats and their spouses from 52 embassies will grace the occasion, turning COS Torwar Warsaw into a vibrant display of international unity. The event serves as a platform for public and cultural diplomacy, drawing attention from officials, ministers, MPs, professionals, the business community, and the general public. In 2022, 44 embassies participated, attracting over 6,000 visitors, and this year’s lineup promises to be even more spectacular.

Rwanda’s Spotlight: From Traditional Dance to Exotic Tastes

Rwanda takes center stage this year as it joins the SHOM Executive Committee, represented by the spouse of the Ambassador of Rwanda in Poland. The Rwandan Embassy is set to make a lasting impression by showcasing the richness of its culture through the traditional dance performance by Itorero “Icyeza” and offering a taste of Rwanda with coffee, tea, and art crafts.
The embassy will sponsor the participation of Itorero “Icyeza,” presenting the vibrant cultural heritage of Rwanda.

Visitors can also savor the flavors of Rwanda with hot tea and coffee available on-site and explore the country’s artistic side through unique art crafts.

Rwanda include sponsoring Itorero “Icyeza,” offering tea, coffee, and art crafts for sale, and providing a taste of Rwanda’s culinary delights.

The Rwandan promotional film will be featured, enhancing the country’s cultural diplomacy. IwacuTimes, a burgeoning Rwandan media outlet in Poland, will capture the moments as the official photographer, supported by Rwanda embassy sponsorship.

The event is an opportunity for Rwanda to strengthen economic diplomacy by showcasing its coffee, tea, and art crafts, fostering increased tourism attraction through culinary experiences. Moreover, “Taste of Diplomacy,” a SHOM Cook Book featuring a Rwanda cuisine chapter and co-sponsored by Visit Rwanda, will be sold for charity, further amplifying Rwanda’s public diplomacy.

As the SHOM International Charity Bazaar unfolds, Warsaw is set to be a melting pot of cultures, a testament to the unity and goodwill fostered by diplomatic missions.
